TOMY Omnibot BattroBorg 20 Battle Robots

If you have watched the movie “Real Steel”, then you might have seen a future where robots are designed not just to serve humans by doing useful tasks around the house but also for their entertainment value. In the movie, robots are designed to battle each other in boxing matches and replacing human boxers to entertain the people. To some people, such a future makes sense with regards to how people may use robots as entertaining pieces. The Japanese have started early on this with the introduction of the new TOMY Omnibot BattroBorg 20 Battle Robots.

The TOMY Omnibot BattroBorg 20 Battle Robots are actually robotic toys developed by Takara TOMY of Japan. But what makes them fascinating is that they are designed to battle each other. Each mini humanoid robots come with 2.4GHz wireless motion controller sets that allow kids to control their movements. The robot’s movements are designed for battle as they can punch with each swing of the hand holding the wireless controllers. A person’s hand movement is mirrored by the robot with no time lag whatsoever, giving instantaneous results to every movement made. The right punch combination can send the other robot down when in battle.

The TOMY Omnibot BattroBorg 20 Battle Robots can either go to into one-on-one battles or their can go on a multiple-robot free-for-all battles of up to 20 robots. It would provide a unique experience for kids to play with, even providing the benefit of exercise at a certain level since it requires some physical effort to play with.

The TOMY Omnibot BattroBorg 20 Battle Robots is expected to be available in the Japanese market by July 14, with the international selling date still to be announced. Each robot is expected to sell for around 3,990 Japanese Yen or around US$51. They are designed for kids 6 years old and up.
