Chemistry may be a subject that most people cringe at and find boring. But kids still need to learn about them. Memorizing all those elements and compounds and their relationships with each other may be a tad boring for many kids. But if parent make a game out of something that bores many kids, then it may help drive some interest. This ION Compound Building Game may just be that tool to help kids appreciate chemistry.
The ION Compound Building Game is a simple card drafting game that requires pairing cards to score points. But it is not a typical set of cards. They feature ion and noble gas cards instead of the usual numbers and suite. The main objective of the game is to pair cards that form neutrally balanced compounds. A game starts when players get 8 cards each from the deck. A player then picks one card and then passes the rest to the player on their right. The next player then picks one card and then passes the rest to the next player. The selected cards either be bonded to another ion or stand alone. Players can score points when they get both a negatively charged element together with a negatively charged one to form a neutrally balanced compound.
The ION Compound Building Game will help kids have fun playing and understanding basic chemistry. Not only will it help kids have fun playing card games, it will also help develop their early appreciation for chemistry. The ION Compound Building Game has just finished conducting a crowd fundingg campaign at Kickstarter and is currently available for pre-order at their site for $20.
