It is now more common among kids to play games using smartphones or tablets. There are tons of game apps available to entertain kids in different ways. Unfortunately, more and more kids prefer playing games this way rather than playing with the usual card or board games. But it would be interesting for kids to try out board game versions of their favorite gaming apps now and then. The Bejeweled Board Game is just one example.
The Bejeweled Board Game is a crossover game from one of the popular game apps of the same title. The rules of the game are somewhat similar to how the game app is being played. However, in the board game, multiple players can play at the same time. The game starts by setting the different jewels on the board, preferably with each row set with different jewels side by side. The objective is to find three jewels of a kind by switching the places of two adjacent jewels. If three jewels in a line are made, they are removed and a player receives a coin of the same jewel color. The jewels are then moved to see if any possible sets of three jewels can be made. If not, the player replaces the removed jewels on the board and the next player makes the move.
In the Bejeweled Board Game, the player who can make three sets of three different colored coins first is the winner. The set comes with 84 different colored jewels, 7 power jewels, 70 scoring coins, game base, a bag and instructions on how to play the game. It is ideal for 2 to 4 players age 8 years old and above. The Bejeweled Board Game is available at Toys R’ Us for $10.
