Scrabble is a classic board game, now imagine turning it into a card game. From the originator of the popular board game Monopoly, Scrabble Slam by Parker Brothers is a high-speed card game that consists of a deck of 55 cards, each containing different letters on both sides. Players race against each other to change the existing four-letter word, discarding their cards in the process. The player with the least number of cards at the end of the game wins.
The game begins with a four-letter word laid out on the tablet, with the remaining card dealt to all players. Other players then rush to create new words by slamming one card to form another four-letter word. For instance, the game begins with “LEAF,” which transforms into “DEAF,” “DEAL,” “MEAL,” “MEAT,” “MEET,” and so on. Interestingly, the deck does not contain Q’s and X’s, but compensates it with several Blanks to serve as wild cards, just like the blank tiles in Scrabble.
To make the game even more challenging, try playing it with five-letter words.
Scrabble Slam is available in Amazon with a listed price of $11.99, but you can get the card game at a much cheaper price.
