Kids love a good and fun game. If it is interesting, that’s even better. Kids also love a good challenge and this Monkey Beach Game will give them one, something that they are not that accustomed to playing on a typical game.
The Monkey Beach Game is all about searching for treasure on an island. In this case, the island is the game board with a large cloth surface. Instead of hunting for buried treasure with shovels, players will try to feel their way to getting that buried treasure. There are 12 treasures that players need to find. At the start of the game, the twelve treasures go inside the island through the volcano. Players then try to shake the island in order to mixed up the buried treasure inside it.
The game start when a player draws a blue card to know what treasure to look for. They also draw from the green card deck to know from what opening on the island the treasure should come out. But when they need to take out the treasure, they need to feel it out by virtue of its shape. If they take out the wrong treasure other than what the drawn card indicates, it goes back inside the volcano and another player takes a turn. Getting the right treasure gets you one point. But the green card also comes with a part of a volcano that, when all four cards are drawn , ends the game. The player who gets the most treasure at the end of the game wins.
The Monkey Beach Game helps encourage the kids to make use of their other senses for play. This game helps them sharpen their sense of touch by feeling for treasure by determining it for its shape. This game also helps develop their shape recognition skills as well as a child’s math skills. Ideal for kids from 3 years old and above, the Monkey Beach Game is available at Fat Brain Toys for $20.
