Child development starts with letting the child explore and learn from his immediate environment. Even before any form of classroom learning, kids are already on their way to learning and understanding the world through their different senses. Eventually, kids need to begin some form of structured learning by the time they reach a certain age. But it should not stop them from still trying to learn using their basic senses. That is what the My First Touch and Feel Seasons Book aims to do.
The My First Touch and Feel Seasons Book aims to combine reading with tactile features in order to allow kids to associate words with a sense of touch or feel. In the case of the book, the aim is to associate a certain texture to the seasons. This book, written and created by Xavier Deneux, is a touch and feel book where kids can explore objects that match with the season. From the book, kids can associate a cotton t-shirt with summer, a fleece coat for the fall, a nylon jacket for winter, a rubber rain coat for spring. Kids can both learn and feel what clothing matches with the season.
The My First Touch and Feel Seasons Book helps encourage kids to develop their early reading skills as well as their sensory learning. It also helps them become more familiar with seasonal vocabulary. The book is available at Fat Brain Toys for $10.
